Create and Save a New Stencil

This option allows you to create a new stencil. A stencil contains a group of shapes that you can drag and drop to construct your process model. The easiest way to do this is to copy an existing AgilePoint stencil as a base and work from that.

  1. In Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\1033\Solutions\Ascentn BPM or similar path depending on your environment.
  2. Make a copy of the Generic.vss file and place it in the same folder.

  3. Give the copy a descriptive name for the new stencil (e.g. IT Assets Group 1).

  4. Open AgilePoint Envision, click the Shapes button and click IT Assets Group 1.

  5. The stencil appears as Generic BPM in the stencil pane. Rename it by right-clicking on the stencil title and clicking Edit Stencil. The Stencil opens in edit mode.

  6. Right-click again and click Properties.
  7. In the “Title” field, type a name for the new stencil (e.g. IT Assets Group 1) and click OK.

  8. Delete the existing icons in the new stencil so that you have a clean slate and save the stencil by clicking on the Save button next to the stencil. Saving as Visio 2002 will ensure backward compatibility.
